Annual Chamber Banquet Celebrates Community and Progress in Clark County
ARKADELPHIA, AR, Apr. 12, 2024: The Arkadelphia Regional Economic Development Alliance and Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their Annual Chamber Banquet, presented by Southwest Auto Collection, on April 11, 2024. The event took place at the Martin B. Garrison Activity and Conference Center on the campus of Henderson State University.
This annual event gathered the Clark County business community to celebrate the collective achievements of the past year, with a special focus on the power of collaboration and unity within the community. The banquet featured insightful remarks from key members of the Alliance and Chamber staff. They highlighted the significant strides made in the past year towards enhancing the business environment and fostering economic development in Clark County.
One of the highlights of the evening was an annual video presentation, showcasing the notable accomplishments and milestones achieved throughout 2023. This presentation vividly brought to life the hard work, dedication, and success stories of the Clark County business community, offering a moment of reflection and celebration for all present.
The Chamber’s annual awards ceremony recognized outstanding individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the community.

APSD Teacher of the Year: Barbara Hesse
Small Business of the Year: Ludwig’s Bakery
Large Business of the Year: South Central Connect
President’s Accomplished Youth Award: Blaise Batson
President’s Distinguished Citizen: Dr. Elizabeth J. Wyatt

Rounding out the event, the Alliance and Chamber President and CEO, Shelley Short, emphasized the organization’s strategic vision priority items, setting a clear and ambitious roadmap for continued development.
Speaking on the community’s future, Short emphasized the importance of collaboration, “It will continue to take all of us – advocating, investing, growing, changing, empowering, celebrating, and working. And most importantly, it will require a united community that embraces success, anticipates change, respects our differences, and supports all residents in their pursuit of a better future for themselves and their families.”
