Annual Chamber Banquet Celebrates Achievement and Growth in Clark County

ARKADELPHIA, AR, Oct. 25, 2023: The Arkadelphia Regional Economic Development Alliance and Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their Annual Chamber Banquet on October 24, 2023, presented by Citizens Bank. The event took place at the Martin B. Garrison Activity and Conference Center on the campus of Henderson State University.

This annual gathering of the Clark County business community featured remarks from Alliance and Chamber staff and the debut of an economic development marketing video showcasing the region as a destination for business attraction and expansion.  Attendees were also shown a video highlighting the progress being made on the Arkadelphia Bypass project, a critical infrastructure upgrade for the region.

The Chamber’s annual awards ceremony recognized outstanding individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the community.

“Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition and thank you for your continued contributions to our community’s prosperity and growth,” said Tara Rollins, Alliance and Chamber Executive Vice President. “These award recipients embody the spirit of excellence, dedication and innovation that make our community thrive. Their hard work and commitment serve as an inspiration to us all.”

Rounding out the event, the Alliance and Chamber President and CEO, Shelley Short, emphasized their ongoing commitment to creating a skilled workforce, improving local education efforts, developing the physical infrastructure needed to recruit and retain business, and creating a livable community with the quality-of-life assets necessary for talent and business attraction.

One of the highlights of the evening was the announcement of a new small business and entrepreneurship development program that begins in January facilitated by Conway’s The Conductor, an entrepreneurial support organization.  This program will provide technical assistance to area businesses through workshops, training, and one-on-one virtual and in-person consultations with small business owners and those looking to start a business.  A key deliverable will be the creation of a sustainable, long-term plan for providing entrepreneurial and small business support in Clark County and surrounding areas.

“There is so much positive momentum and excitement occurring in Clark County right now,” said Shelley Short.  “We are gearing up for a fabulous 2024 and invite you to join us in building a community that is the best place in Arkansas to do business, visit, or call home.”
