I initially created my pharmaceutical business in Clark County because it's a great place to raise a family.  I've stayed because I feel a real loyalty to this place and want to give back to the community that has been so good to me.

I don't make money selling pharmaceuticals; I make money helping people.  W. P. Malone, Inc. employs nearly 150 in Clark County with a staff that includes pharmacists, pharmacy and entry techs, accountants and I.T. specialists.  We customize our pharmaceutical service to prisons and long-term health facilities throughout Arkansas, including nursing homes, human development centers and assisted living facilities.  Our company also includes a retail chain of eight All Care Pharmacies.

I got involved in Clark County's economic development efforts in the late 1970's through work with the local Chamber of Commerce.  I later worked with my friend and then-Governor Bill Clinton and local leaders to create the Clark County Industrial Council.  Fueled by the passage of a 1-cent sales tax, we were able to develop the county's Industrial Park.  Through years of work with a wide variety of prospects, I've found that a company or industry does not simply choose the site they like the best; instead, they eliminate the others.  Here in Clark County, we want to do our best to meet every prospect's needs and never say "no."

Inspired by the public service of Bill Clinton, I secured a seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives in 1994 and have served my state as a legislator ever since.  In 2001, I made the move to the Senate and currently chair the Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee.

If I've learned anything through my business and political career, it's that you have to be a risk taker.  Not every idea I've tried has worked, but I have learned from every single failure and try to make more right decisions than wrong ones.  This philosophy has served me well in all areas of my life.  I've also learned that I'll never have 100% support of my community at any given time - my hope is that I can persuade enough of those who are against me to come over to my side to have a majority.  Then we can move forward and make a real difference.

Percy Malone leads one of Clark County’s largest and most profitable companies, W. P. Malone, Inc. The pharmaceutical company customizes prescriptions for long-term health facilities and prisons throughout the state and also owns eight successful retail pharmacies under the All Care brand. Since 1994, he has served as a state legislator and continues to represent District 26 in the Arkansas Senate.
