I was born and raised in Clark County and so far, by the grace of God, I've been able to make a decent living and have a family. The community is small and slow, which is good at times but challenging at others.
I received my B.S. in Political Science from Henderson State University and went on to secure my M.A. in Higher Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Following graduation, I knew I wanted to help provide kids with the tools to make a better life for themselves and for their families. I currently work in the TRIO department at OBU in a program called Educational Talent Search. We are a federally funded program that provides information and other tools to potential first generation or financially challenged college students.
I was part of the first Leadership Clark County Class and am also involved in many other facets throughout the community. I've always been an active volunteer. My grandfather is truly a pillar of Clark County's Manchester community and I've always wanted to be like him.
I am excited about the new direction Clark County is taking, much in part to our strategic plan. Though we are behind some places in mindset, action, and technology, we have realized our weaknesses and have made amazing strides to eradicate our deficiencies with our Strategic Plan. I see great things happening, but it takes patience and communication for everyone to see the things that are being done to improve upon the foundations laid by our forefathers. As a young professional and lifetime Clark County citizen, I am excited to be part of that improvement and growth
