Amity
Amity is located at the northwestern edge of the county. Its residents can best be described as friendly, hard working, independent and family oriented. For decades timber has been the basis of the economy but now that is changing. Amity has been built around the “city square” which surrounds a quaint round-about with an attractive fountain and period lighting in the center. Fitness is an important goal for many in Amity. You will find old and young walking on the new quarter mile fitness trail at the city park, almost any time of day. Hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and boating are very common around Amity as there are several recreational lakes and rivers close by. Religion is a big value in Amity, judging by the nine churches and two faith-based schools in and around the town. Amity boasts a 7,500 sq. ft. city hall and fire station. There is a very dependable volunteer fire department and ambulance service. A medical clinic and dental office provide health care for the area.
So….come for a visit or find a house to buy. You will find life in Amity goes at a slower pace but is rich with value and relationships.
