Thank you for your interest in Leadership Clark County. The Arkadelphia Regional Economic Development Alliance and Area Chamber of Commerce is currently recruiting members for Leadership Clark County Class VIII. For the eighth year, the Alliance is sponsoring this program because knowledgeable and skilled leaders are critical to the growth of Clark County. This program is a nine-month course designed for those who are committed to shaping the future of our community. Leadership Clark County is aimed at developing and encouraging local leadership, as well as supporting the character and heritage of Clark County. The program seeks to produce a networked group of leaders who understand the county’s special sense of place and share a common commitment to support and sustain our economy.
Program Schedule for Class VIII
Participants will attend a mandatory opening session in January. Full day sessions will follow the opening session once a month for nine months with a graduation ceremony in October. Participants will also attend our Legislative Reception in Little Rock, Arkansas during the program. A wide variety of speakers and panelists will help participants develop effective leadership skills and knowledge in a wide variety of topics. Previous classes covered topics such as Clark County history, education, economic development, state government, health care, transportation, and agriculture. The cost for each participant is $300 and is due upon notification of acceptance. Tuition is non-refundable and must be paid in full by the Opening Session for participants to remain in the program. Tuition covers all meals during each session and overnight accommodation during the legislative session. Participants can be nominated or sponsored by employers, organizations, individuals or themselves.
The Leadership Clark County Selection Committee seeks to identify individuals who are most likely to use their leadership abilities for the long-term benefit of Clark County. Class size is typically between 20-25. Applicants who are not selected are encouraged to apply in subsequent years. Leadership Clark County does not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, or national origin. Successful candidates will be well-rounded and actively involved in many facets of the local community.
A limited number of scholarships are available to help candidates for whom tuition presents a barrier to participation. Please note that Leadership Clark County may not be able to provide the full amount requested but will work diligently with the participate to create an affordable payment plan. If you are requesting a scholarship, please include a statement with your application that addresses why you need financial assistance.

The Clark County Industrial Park, located on U.S. Highway 67, approximately five miles south of Arkadelphia, covers 313 acres and is developed for industry with sites from 4.5 acres to 26.5 acres.
Leadership Clark County was established by the Arkadelphia Regional Economic Development Alliance & Area Chamber of Commerce pursuant to one of the goals of the Clark County Strategic Plan.
The Business Retention & Expansion program of the Alliance focuses on facilitating job growth of existing business and industry and retaining jobs due to possible downsizing or relocation.
